At De Bock Maritiem, you don't work on standard engineering, but on seagoing vessels. As a Special Purpose Engineer, you ensure that our fleet keeps running, at sea, on the river, and everywhere in between. You resolve malfunctions, think ahead, and are the key technical link between the office and the ship. No day is the same, because if the Superintendent calls you and tells you that one day you are on one ship adjusting valves and the next day you have to pack your bags to assist with a docking for several weeks, that is no problem at all for you. De Bock Maritime De Bock Maritiem is a growing shipping company in Alkmaar with a fleet of coastal and sea-river vessels. In addition, we support shipowners with full ship management. Whether a ship is owned or managed, they are all equally important to us. What are you going to do? As a Special Purpose Engineer, you are responsible for keeping our ships operational: • You resolve technical and electronic malfunctions - remotely and on board • You support the crew with complex technical issues. • You carry out maintenance, installations, and repairs. • You think in solutions and improve systems where possible. • You sail along when needed (ranging from 1 day to 3 weeks) • You work closely with the crew, colleagues, and external parties. What are you bringing? • MBO working and thinking level with a technical background, • Experience with the maintenance of seagoing vessels and their technical installations, • Technical insight into, among others, main and auxiliary engines, installations, and electrical systems, • An independent and solution-oriented work attitude, • Flexibility: you switch easily between ship and office, • Good command of the English language so that you can also train the crew, • Experience in the maritime sector is a definite plus, but not a must.
