Free Press Unlimited is looking for an experienced and independent Senior Project Controller (32-38 hours per week) who will be responsible for the financial management and accountability of our international projects and grant implementation. You will ensure reliable financial project reporting, support project audits and make a tangible contribution to a solid financial foundation for our mission: strengthening press freedom worldwide. Location: Amsterdam. Please note that remote work is not posible for this position and candidates must have a valid residence and work permit for the Netherlands to be considered. What you will be doing - You will act as a sparring partner for Programme Leads, Grant & Compliance Managers, the Head of Finance and the Executive Director with regard to the project portfolio; - Your focus will be on budget-to-actual project monitoring, project risk management and donor reporting (in accordance with the requirements of the grant agreement); - You will assess and advise on the financial aspects of project proposals, e.g. the project budget; - You will check the administrative and accounting processing of all financial documents, in accordance with the prescribed guidelines of the organisation and/or the relevant grant providers; - You prepare both periodic and ad hoc financial analyses and reports based on grant requirements, your own risk assessment a...
