About the company Our client is an e-commerce platform active throughout Europe, managing Shopping campaigns for webshops of all sizes, from small retailers to major players like Ebay, Amazon, AliExpress, and more. They retrieve product feeds from webshops, process them, and upload them to advertising platforms. This amounts to roughly 1 billion product listings per day. The scale is large, the systems are complex, and there's always plenty of work to do. The tech team consists of 8 people and works from Amsterdam, with 3 colleagues based abroad. English is the working language due to the international nature of the team. The culture is informal: little bureaucracy, daily standups, and lots of freedom to organize your own work. There's a large backlog and plenty of challenges for the coming years. The foundation is solid, but there's a lot to improve in terms of architecture, observability, and scalability. You won't be building something from scratch here, but rather improving and expanding what's already running. What will you be doing? You'll work on the backend of a platform that processes, transforms, and uploads product feeds. The codebase has grown organically over the years and needs attention in several areas.
