Here's what you'll be doing
Variety and a challenge: as a Civil Affairs specialist, you'll certainly find both at Apeldoorn City Council. One moment you'll be at the counter handling an application for naturalisation, an initial registration from abroad or a birth registration; the next, you'll be on the phone or in the back office providing information, processing digital declarations and divorces, or updating the Municipal Personal Records (BRP). You'll be up to date with the relevant legislation, advising and assisting residents. Your day-to-day tasks will include:
• applications relating to the BRP, nationality legislation, private international law, naturalisation and the processing of changes in the system;
• 1 e registrations and resettlements from abroad;
• assess and process foreign source documents;
• civil registry declarations, both at the counter and online, and processing changes;
• classifying marriages and civil partnerships;
• all administrative tasks relating to marriages and civil partnerships;
• participating in elections and the organisation of elections.

Here's what you need to take
You're strong on the substance, but what makes you a truly excellent Civil Affairs specialist is your focus on customer service and process optimisation. You thrive on getting to the bottom of things and making things even better or easier for residents. With your positive attitude, you adapt easily to changing circumstances. Naturally, you have a good understanding of the relevant legislation and regulations and know how to keep these up to date independently. You are also available for at least four days a week and can work during the evening opening hours (Thursdays). In addition:
• you have a relevant higher professional education (HBO) qualification and have completed additional training in the field of Civil Affairs/Civil Registry (BABZ/MLO-BZ)
• you have several years' demonstrable experience in the Civil Affairs department;
• You have knowledge and experience in the field of public services, civil affairs and computerised systems, including iBurgerzaken.

• A contract of employment initially for one year, with the prospect of a permanent position;
• A salary of between €3,206 and €4,499 gross per month (scale 8) based on a 36-hour week;
