And do you enjoy helping shape new activities and events? Then this role may be for you! We're looking for a new board member to take on the role of secretary or general board member. This is an unpaid position. PianoFest Foundation PianoFest Foundation was founded in 2017. With an entrepreneurial, professional team we regularly organise piano festivals where amateurs can step into the shoes of a real concert pianist for five minutes. We also organise smaller events. We do this for every amateur pianist in the Netherlands: whether you're 5 years old or 85, whether you've been having lessons your whole life or just started teaching yourself in your attic with a YouTube tutorial, whether you play classical or your own jazz-pop compositions - we're here for every piano lover, at every level. The board The board is made up of a chair, a treasurer and a general board member. We meet once every two months at a location in Amsterdam or online. We also stay in regular contact between meetings, for both business and social reasons. The board still carries out a limited number of operational tasks but is increasingly moving towards an arms-length, non-executive role. There is an enthusiastic delivery team that takes care of organising the festival itself. The secretary or general board member As secretary, you help the board organise itself and continue to professionalise. You'll have a particular interest in the production of the festival and will advise and assist where needed. You'll also enjoy thinking about strategy and/or the delivery of our activities. In the weeks around events you'll spend around 2 to 4 hours a week on PianoFest. The rest of the year, less. We're also looking for a general board member with experience in the cultural sector, in fundraising and corporate sponsorship, in the transition to a sustainable business model, and so on.
