FCI, the global representative body for factoring, receivables finance and supply chain finance, announces the commencement of the .
As FCI enters a new phase of growth and development, the Executive Committee is seeking a dynamic, internationally minded leader who will guide the organisation through its next chapter and further strengthen its position as the world's leading network for receivables finance.
Today, FCI operates in more than 90 countries and serves as the leading network for receivables finance, connecting banks, non-bank financial institutions, fintechs, export credit agencies, multilateral development banks and other key stakeholders through a unique platform that facilitates international trade, business collaboration and access to finance.
FCI's mission has evolved beyond being a traditional industry association. It is now a truly global business network that supports its members through industry advocacy, education, legal expertise, technology solutions, digital innovation, professional standards, and cross-border business opportunities.
The next Secretary General will have the opportunity to build upon this strong foundation and help shape the future of receivables finance in an increasingly digital, interconnected and rapidly changing global marketplace.
The Role
Headquartered in Amsterdam, the Secretary General serves as the chief executive of FCI and is responsible for implementing the strategic direction established by the Executive Committee.
The Secretary General leads the Secretariat and works closely with members, regulators, policymakers, multilateral development banks, international organisations, strategic partners, and industry stakeholders worldwide.
The successful candidate will ensure that FCI continues to:
• Expand and strengthen its global membership network.
• Enhance member value and engagement.
• Promote factoring, receivables finance and supply chain finance globally.
• Advance digitalisation, innovation, and industry best practices.
• Strengthen advocacy efforts with regulators and policymakers.
• Maintain operational excellence, financial sustainability, and strong governance.
• Position FCI as the leading global voice of the receivables finance industry.
The role requires significant international engagement and frequent travel.
Candidate Profile
Experience
The ideal candidate must hold a university degree and have a proven track record of success in senior executive leadership positions within a financial institution, financial services organisation, industry association or a related sector.
The candidate must possess substantial experience in the factoring, receivables finance and/or supply chain finance industry, together with a strong understanding of international trade finance, working capital solutions and financial services markets.
A solid understanding of the legal and regulatory frameworks governing factoring, receivables finance, supply chain finance, international trade, compliance, and related financial services activities is required.
In addition, a solid understanding of FCI's global membership network, governance framework, industry advocacy activities, educational programmes, legal initiatives, service platform and international business facilitation services would be considered a strong asset.
Experience in engaging with regulators, policymakers, multilateral development banks, industry associations and international organisations will be considered a significant advantage.
The candidate must demonstrate strong business development, strategic planning, and organisational leadership capabilities, supported by a successful record of delivering growth, innovation, and operational excellence.
The successful candidate will possess a strong international mindset and be comfortable operating in a multicultural environment, managing relationships across different jurisdictions and stakeholder groups worldwide.
Fluency in English is essential. Knowledge of additional languages will be considered an advantage.
