Purchasing officer | Aircraft maintenance
-
Wat ga je doen?
Are you creative enough to source parts that almost no one else can find?
As a Purchasing Officer, you are responsible for sourcing all required parts for a single aircraft, from A to Z. This is not a role focused on routine purchasing or recurring orders. Your challenge is to track down critical aircraft parts when the source is unknown, supply is limited, or availability is extremely scarce. For you, "impossible" is not an option. If a manufacturer cannot deliver a part for several months, you proactively explore alternative solutions; for example, by creatively reallocating components from other aircraft undergoing maintenance.
You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team of B1 Licensed Aircraft Engineers, B2 Avionics Engineers, and the Planning Department to ensure maintenance projects stay on schedule. In addition, you will meet with clients once or twice a week to provide updates on part availability and sourcing progress. This role requires persistence, creativity, strong communication skills, and the ability to think beyond conventional procurement methods to keep aircraft flying.
Waar ga je werken?
You'll be working for a leading, independent aircraft maintenance organization in the Maastricht region. You'll be working right alongside the aircraft, as part of an international team with short lines of communication. It's a full-time position.
Wie ben je?
- MBO+/associate degree level of thinking and working; eagerness to learn matters more than your diploma - You're creative and proactive: you think in solutions, not limitations - You speak fluent English (Dutch is not required; international team) - You're client-facing and communicate easily with customers - You stay calm and persuasive, even when the pressure is on - Experience purchasing technical parts or raw materials is a plus
