PAI Plastics High performance plastic
PAI, or Polyamide-imide, is a high-performance polymer with excellent mechanical properties and good impact resistance. Because of its robustness and reliability, PAI is used to manufacture parts that can be subjected to heavy loads.
PAI Plastic
PAI can effortlessly withstand high temperatures (up to 260°C) without material deformation. However, it is not weldable or bendable, but is machinable (turning and milling). PAI products, such as gears and bearings, are often exposed to heavy loads and chemical influences. What is not always known is that PAI is also resistant to UV, X-ray and gamma radiation.
PAI variant: Torlon
Torlon is a PAI variant and possesses almost identical properties. Due to the diverse manufacturing process, its chemical composition in particular differs. Nevertheless, the material remains exceptionally strong with high heat and chemical resistance.
