Limburg Youth Symphony Orchestra (LJSO)
The Limburg Youth Symphony Orchestra (LJSO) is celebrating its 15th anniversary and is the only symphony orchestra in Limburg for young musicians aged 14 to 25, originating from conservatories, music schools, and private education. The orchestra performs concerts in various theaters in Limburg and organizes 6 to 8 rehearsal and concert periods annually, supplemented by workshops aimed at musical development, ensemble playing, and artistic growth.
Within the organization, you will work with the board, an artistic manager, and various project conductors who are responsible for the artistic direction of the projects.
To strengthen our organization, we are looking for a:
Orchestra Manager / Board Support
(8-10 hours per week, self-employed - annual contract)
Start: preferably in June (by mutual agreement)
In this role, you are responsible for the practical and organizational coordination of the orchestra and the project periods. You act as the central link between musicians, conductors, artistic management, the board, and external partners. Additionally, you play an important role in recruiting new orchestra members and perform support tasks for the board.
What will you be doing?
• Coordinating the organization of rehearsals, workshops, and concerts
• Actively recruiting new orchestra members (an important part of the position)
• Handling administration and correspondence (email, scheduling, etc.)
• Managing and updating the website and online information
• Supporting communication with musicians and external partners
• Occasionally providing simple social media updates
• Attending rehearsals, workshops, and concerts
• Extra commitment during project and concert weeks
• Supportive duties for the board

What do we ask?
• Strong organizational talent and a structured working method
• Good communication skills
• Good command of Dutch and English (oral and written)
• Availability during rehearsals, workshops, and concert periods
• Own laptop and phone
• Preferably residing in Limburg
• Experience in organization, management, or production is a plus
• Affinity with (classical) music is a plus
