Lifeguard • 5 - 20 hours per week • 2,775 - € 3,283 Our swimming pool De Meerkamp fulfills a societal role in swimming proficiency, recreational swimming, various target groups, baby and toddler swimming, and various (swimming) clubs. In your role as a Lifeguard, you make a valuable contribution to this. This is your job As a Lifeguard, you are the face of Swimming Pool De Meerkamp and the first point of contact for our visitors at the poolside. You ensure a warm welcome, that the safety of our visitors is guaranteed, and that they have a pleasant experience in our swimming pool. You do this by: • To actively supervise the pools during (recreational) swimming hours. • To be in contact with the visitors and provide them with information about the proper use of the facilities. • To react immediately to unwanted or unsafe situations; you intervene if necessary. • To act as host/hostess for the various target groups and to keep the swimming environment clean and inviting for our visitors. This is your workplace Swimming pool De Meerkamp is an accessible swimming facility where sport, relaxation, and recreation come together. Visitors can go there for swimming lessons, free swimming, aqua sports, and activities for specific target groups. Swimming pool De Meerkamp is part of AmstelveenSport, an independent limited liability company with the Municipality of Amstelveen as its sole shareholder. AmstelveenSport uses sport and physical activity as a means to contribute to a healthy, social, and vital society. An enthusiastic group of employees encourages all residents of Amstelveen to participate in sports and physical activity. The field of sport and physical activity is fascinating and dynamic. For instance, we work in the neighborhoods and form a network with education, sports clubs, and organizations in the field of well-being and health. In addition to the staff services, the organization consists of four pillars: De Meerkamp swimming pool, Sport Service, Sport Promotion, and Sport Facility. For the position of Lifeguard, it is important that you have an open and friendly attitude, as you are the first point of contact for our visitors. We think it is important that you: • have an MBO work and thinking level. • You are in possession of a Lifesaving diploma and a First Aid diploma. If you do not have these diplomas yet, we can also offer you training. • Communicates clearly in both Dutch and English. • You know how to hold your ground in conflict situations and resolve them constructively. • You are committed, collegiality is important to you, and you have a good sense of humor. • You are flexibly available for morning, evening, and weekend shifts. Regarding employment conditions, you fall under the Swimming Pools Collective Labour Agreement (CAO Zwembaden), and the position is classified in scale 5, with a gross monthly salary between €2,775.43 and €3,283.70 based on a full-time employment of 38 hours per week. You will receive 8% holiday allowance, 3% end-of-year bonus, a surcharge of 25% for working on Saturdays and Sundays, a travel allowance, and we offer you 27 vacation days per year. Finally, we have excellent pension accrual with ABP, including an additional safety net for death and disability, and you can make use of various insurance policies and benefits on a voluntary basis. Due to the flexibility in the work schedule, this position can be easily combined with other work or studies.
