LAB Technician

In addition to supporting various research projects, you will also be responsible for the operational activities and organization of the laboratory. You identify gaps in current work processes and procedures and make suggestions for further improvements. You work on new as well as existing products and raw materials. You carry out a wide range of physical, chemical, analytical and performance tests, while collecting and reporting results. You do so in an effective and timely manner, prioritizing and meeting deadlines. You are responsible for the incoming control of research samples, ordering chemicals and consumables as well as equipment maintenance and calibration. You troubleshoot and diagnose equipment and systems for emergency repairs and carry out preventive maintenance inspections. It is important to balance lab organization and maintenance needs with the project workload while promoting a safe work environment and avoiding downtime. You will be doing hands-on research in the lab for about 80-90 % of your time. The team The R&D team you will join is fairly small and consists of six colleagues. It is a multicultural team and the working language is English. In this position you work closely with your colleagues and report directly to the line manager.
