For our breeding department, we are looking for an enthusiastic Junior Plant Breeder. Will you come and strengthen our team? You will contribute to the development of new organic varieties! What you will do As a Junior Plant Breeder, you will contribute to the development of new organic vegetable crops, focusing on tomato and pepper rootstocks. • You will support the setup, execution, and monitoring of breeding programs • You will perform crossing activities, assess trial fields, and collect data on characteristics such as yield, resistance, and quality • You will analyze results and report them to the plant breeder. You will work closely with an experienced plant breeder and a number of crop care specialists • You will be given the space to further develop your knowledge and skills and grow within the field of breeding • You will combine practical work among the plants with challenging intellectual work, so that together we develop top organic varieties that offer real added value for growers About you • You have a completed agricultural degree (HBO or WO), preferably in plant breeding. Relevant work experience is a plus • You have an affinity with organic agriculture and share our mission • You work accurately, structured, and have an eye for detail • You are analytically strong and can report research results clearly • You are eager to learn, independent, and take initiative • You have good communication skills and enjoy working in a team • You are proficient in both Dutch and English What we offer you • The opportunity to work on future-proof agriculture that is healthy for makers, eaters, and our planet • Room to grow and develop • A pleasant workplace with an enthusiastic and dedicated team • An annual contract for 38 hours per week • Salary range: €3,200-€4,200 (for full-time employment), depending on experience, in accordance with the Garden Seed Companies CLA (CAO Tuinzaadbedrijven) • 8.33% holiday allowance and 25 vacation days • Travel allowance of 23 cents per km for a commute between 5-35 km • Fresh organic fruit at the workplace About us De Bolster has been a leader in organic seeds for over 45 years.
