From creating new land to building ports and protecting coastlines, dredging is about shaping the world around us. As a Dredging Fleet Trainee at Boskalis in Papendrecht, you contribute to projects that have a visible and lasting impact. Depending on your assignment, you could be involved in large international projects such as the construction of new ports, land reclamation projects or coastal protection works. Recent examples include the development of Manila International Airport in the Philippines and coastal protection projects in the Maldives. While some assignments take place close to home, others bring you to project locations around the world where vessels operate continuously in international teams. The programme The 12-month Fleet Track Traineeship prepares you for a role as a Technical Superintendent within our dredging division. As a Technical Superintendent, you are responsible for the technical performance, maintenance and reliability of vessels and equipment. As a trainee, you will set development goals and work on them throughout the programme. Focused on learning by doing, you will complete two tailored assignments. You will work with experienced colleagues, receive guidance from a mentor and follow training courses. We offer You are excited to start your career in a hands-on technical environment. Always curious, you are eager to learn, especially when working with new systems or unfamiliar dredging equipment and technical situations. Furthermore, you have: • A completed MBO level 4, Associate Degree or BSc in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, Electrical Engineering or similar. • Affinity with technical systems, machinery or maritime environments. • A practical mindset and interest in hands-on technical work, both in the office and on-site. • Flexibility to work in different environments and adapt to changing project conditions, also abroad. • A good command of spoken and written English.
