Are you ready to start your career in the dynamic world of towage, salvage, and maritime services? At Multraship, you will contribute to challenging projects on the water, where craftsmanship, safety, and innovation are at the core of everything we do.
Multraship and the other companies within the Muller Maritime Group offer a wide range of internship and training opportunities for motivated students and those wanting to kick-start their career in the industry. Whether you want to work at sea or prefer a role on shore, you will learn the trade in practice, guided by experienced professionals.
Fleet internships at Multraship
Step on board one of our tugboats and experience maritime work first-hand. We offer work placements and graduation internships for students pursuing maritime qualifications:
• MBO level 2 (SMBW) : internships on harbour tugs
• MBO level 3 (SWK) and higher (Maroff) : internships on seagoing tugs
• Technical internships, bridge internships , or combined programmes
• Possibility for flexible start dates
You will work within the regular sailing and leave rotation and become part of a close‑knit team with a fixed crew. Safety is our top priority, and thanks to personal guidance, you will learn quickly and effectively. Dutch is the working language on board, and the atmosphere is informal.
Boatman Training Programme
Do you dream of a career as a boatman? We offer a fully funded, three‑year vocational training programme, including all the qualifications you need. Upon completion, you will be fully equipped to work independently in the profession.
• Admission requirements: minimum of VMBO (theoretical, mixed, or technical pathway) or a transition certificate from year 3 to year 4 of HAVO/VWO.
• Exemptions may be granted based on relevant inland shipping experience or recognised certificates.
You will learn the trade at an accredited training company, with intensive guidance and plenty of opportunities to grow.
Work‑and‑learn programmes at Polderman Shipping
Would you like to learn and work at the same time? At Polderman, you can enrol in a work‑based learning programme (BBL) for:

• Inland Shipping Skipper (level 3)
You will combine hands‑on experience at our accredited training company with classroom-based study (16 or 24 weeks per year). This allows you to develop into a skilled professional in inland shipping, following a continuous learning pathway that closely aligns with day-to-day practice.
