For our Tropical division, specializing in the sale of young tropical houseplants grown from both tissue culture and seed, we are looking for a Cultivation Specialist. What will you be doing? As a Cultivation Specialist in our Tropical department, you will be daily involved in caring for and optimizing the cultivation process. You will be responsible for ensuring our crops in the greenhouse grow as well as possible, and you will make sure our plants remain in top condition and are ready for delivery to our customers. Your duties will include: · Performing all common cultivation activities · Assessing plant growth and timely identifying deviations, diseases, and pests · Managing irrigation, fertilization, and crop protection · Supplying materials and preparing products for colleagues and customers · Contributing to planning and documenting protocols and procedures · Managing certifications and overseeing crop trials · You supervise cultivation staff on the work floor and provide clear daily direction · You conduct rounds with advisors, translate advice into concrete actions, and ensure follow-up in crop management Your profile You are a practical and precise cultivation professional who is hands-on and has an eye for quality. You also have: · MBO vocational education level · Experience in greenhouse or glass horticulture is a significant plus · Knowledge of ornamental horticulture and experience with diseases and pests · A valid pesticide application license (or willingness to obtain one) · Technical understanding and experience operating machinery and installations · A meticulous and structured approach with attention to detail · Good command of Dutch and English · Willingness to work occasional weekend shifts What does this job offer you?
