Your role As a Civil / Structural Engineer, you work on designing, calculating, and specifying civil and structural solutions within industrial projects. You are responsible for both concrete and steel structures, translating functional requirements and design principles into safe, sustainable, and technically feasible designs. You operate in an industrial environment where structures are an integral part of process installations, equipment, and infrastructure. In this context, you work both on single-discipline projects and within multidisciplinary teams, collaborating with colleagues from areas such as process, mechanical, and E&I. Within projects, you work largely independently. You take ownership of your scope, coordinate technical matters with clients and suppliers, and ensure that designs comply with applicable standards and constructability requirements. What will you be doing? • Designing and calculating steel and concrete structures within industrial projects; • Developing foundations, support structures, load-bearing structures, and civil works; • Preparing and reviewing structural calculations using SCIA Engineer and Technosoft; • Verifying designs against Eurocodes and Dutch laws and regulations; • Performing and documenting design verifications; • Aligning structural design principles within multidisciplinary project teams; • Advising on structural feasibility, safety, and optimization; • Preparing progress, quality, and cost reports; • Contributing to the development and updating of discipline-specific (civil/structural) standards; You will structurally work with: • SCIA Engineer • Technosoft • IDEA StatiCa • Microsoft Office 365 (Excel and Word are essential) Knowledge of Navisworks and document control processes will be further developed on the job. Above all: you read this vacancy and think, this is something I can do and truly want to do! • A completed bachelor's or master's degree (HBO/WO) in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field; • Experience in designing and calculating steel and/or concrete structures within an industrial environment; • Knowledge of Eurocodes and how they are applied in Dutch practice; • Experience with calculation software such as SCIA Engineer or Technosoft is a plus; • An independent and structured way of working, with the ability to collaborate effectively in multidisciplinary teams; • You speak professional English AND/OR Dutch. • Willingness to (occasionally) work on-site at client locations and to further develop within your field of expertise.
