R&D Intern Color
Our R&D teams focus on developing new technologies to grow and innovate our paints & coating businesses throughout the world. The colors we choose to surround ourselves with can play an important role in maintaining our overall mental well-being. Our paint brands offer thousands of color choices. To be able to produce this kaleidoscope of hues and shades in all our paints requires high technological capabilities and smart digital solutions.
Our internships offer a variety of research topics in the field of Colorimetry which can be seen as a mix of physics, chemistry, mathemathics and IT.
Organisation:
• You will work in an international team, reporting to a project leader
• You will work on a defined project or subject
• The team focuses on the development of color recipes for coatings in multiple BU's such as decorative paints, coil coatings, powder coatings, vehicle refinishes and aerospace on a global level
Wat will you do:
• Develop scientific insights to understand the world of color/colorimetry
• Opportunities to design, execute and present your own project(s)
• Validate theoretical models through practical examples
• Contribute to multifunctional color related projects
Job requirements:
• Master's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or Environmental Studies
• Strong communication skills and a good command of English (Dutch is a plus)
• Curiosity and eagerness to learn about coatings and colorimetry
• Motivated team player with a results-driven and problem-solving mindset, both within a team and towards internal stakeholders
• Open and positive attitude, willing to ask questions and challenge existing approaches
• Preferably experience with IT-related topics such as databases, software development, programming, and testing
• Interest in Python or similiar software
• Available for an internship duration of 9 to 12 month
