Automation Engineer - Engineering - Netherlands, Breda - July 7, 2026 - Fulltime - mbo-4, mbo, hbo - V-194383 - €80000 - €85000 per annum Automation Engineer About the Role As an Automation Engineer , you will ensure the reliability, performance, and compliance of automation systems supporting manufacturing and packaging operations. You will perform advanced troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and continuous improvement activities for PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems while ensuring minimal disruption to production in a GMP-regulated environment. You will serve as the automation expert within the maintenance team, working closely with production, engineering, IT, and external vendors to maintain and optimize automated manufacturing systems. Key Responsibilities Automation Maintenance & Support - Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on automation systems (ISA Levels 1-3). - Troubleshoot and resolve complex automation issues to minimize production downtime. - Execute routine automation activities such as backups, restores, audit trail reviews, and system access management. - Support system patching activities in collaboration with Digital Technology & Innovation (DTI). - Establish secure remote vendor connections and coordinate technical support with equipment suppliers. Technical Leadership - Act as the first point of escalation for automation-related issues. - Coach and train maintenance technicians on automation systems and best practices. - Develop technical documentation, work instructions, and training materials. - Support engineering projects and equipment implementations as the automation specialist.
