Assistant Professor in Social Work and Social Justice (0,8 fte) Profile: The assistant professor has social work, or a clearly identifiable subfield of social work, as a central area of research. The candidate also has demonstrable expertise in social justice, professionalism, civil society, ethics and/or social policy. Preferably, two of these subjects are an integral part of the candidate's own research; in any case, the candidate must be able to teach about these subjects at an academic level in Master's programs. The candidate connects empirical and/or theoretical knowledge of social work with broader societal and normative questions concerning social justice, professionalism, civil society, and/or social policy. We are looking for an assistant professor who enjoys working in interdisciplinary research teams and is keen to contribute actively to the further development of the research agenda of the chair in Social Work. At the same time, we expect the candidate to be able and willing to further develop an independent research profile, including by applying for individual research grants from NWO and other relevant funding bodies. About the research department: The assistant professor will contribute to teaching and research within the department Citizenship and Humanisation of the Public Sector and, in particular, within the Chair of Social Work. This group conducts research into social justice, public service delivery, and social work from a critical-humanist perspective, with a focus on issues of dignity, recognition, exclusion, and societal change. The assistant professor is expected to collaborate in interdisciplinary research teams while also developing an independent line of research.
