About the Nieuwegein Symphony Orchestra The Nieuwegein Symphony Orchestra (NAS) has existed for 40 years and is a lively orchestra with members of various musical levels from Nieuwegein and the surrounding area. We rehearse weekly and give three concerts annually, including a traditional Requiem on 4 May, together with a project choir. We also go on a concert tour abroad once every 2-3 years. Our basis: pleasure in making music together. We recently started working with our new conductor, Jean-Pierre Gabriel, and as an orchestra we are moving and growing! Who we are looking for: For our cello group (5 players) we are looking for an experienced and inspiring leader who is musically and socially strong. What we expect of you: o Broad experience as a cellist in symphony orchestras and ensembles. o Experience as a leader is an advantage, but not a requirement. o You have good communication skills, are inspiring and connective. o You have the motivation and insight to lift the cello group to a higher level musically. o You can get on well with players of different ages and musical levels. In addition, you are responsible for: o The musical coordination within the cello group. o The timely signifying of parts. o Organising group rehearsals. o Coordinating with the conductor about the staffing of the desks. o Welcoming and supervising new (candidate) members. o Cooperation with the conductor and other leaders.
