About the Role
In the fast-paced, high-ss world of global commodity trading, no two days are ever the same. This role offers a rare opportunity to manage and synchronize both our Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable teams, running the full transactional lifecycle end-to-end.
At its core, this is a leadership position for someone who genuinely loves leading people and brings a high-energy, unifying presence to the office every day. Leading a dedicated 10-person team, you will act as a bridge, fostering a culture that respects established operational consistency while driving modern ideas and process improvements. You will spend the majority of your time coaching, motivating, and building a cohesive culture across different generations. Reporting to the Group Finance Director, you will act as a trusted, collaborative partner to Trade, balancing operational control with commercial empathy to keep our massive global cash engine moving flawlessly.
What You Will Do
• Dedicate the majority of your time to active people management, coaching a diverse 10-person team across varying career stages, building an open, high-performance team culture.
• Drive the daily momentum of both the AR and AP teams, orchestrating high-volume collections and punctual payments with a strategic, big-picture perspective.
• Apply sharp commercial judgment to late payments in real-time, reading global market conditions to distinguish between external operational bottlenecks and genuine credit risks.
• of our most substantial supplier and customer relationships, managing complex netting arrangements and supply chain financing agreements within our established treasury frameworks.
• Champion the AR/AP function as an energetic, credible partner in Credit Committees, collaborating closely with Traders, Commercial Directors, and Risk & Compliance to find solutions where finance meets commerce.
• Manage the daily high-level relationship with external credit insurers to secure optimal coverage, limits, and claim resolutions.
• Facilitate the seamless adoption of process automation and systems improvements within the team, working closely with the Senior Business Controller for Projects.
Who You Are
• You bring at least 15 years of finance and accounting experience, including successfully managing operational finance teams.
• You are a natural leader and are energized by the challenge of managing diverse personalities.
• You thrive in a vibrant, unpredictable trading environment where priorities can shift quickly, and you have the confidence to stand your ground firmly with commercial sholders while keeping relationships excellent.
• You hold a bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Economics, or a related field.
• You are fully fluent in English and conversational Dutch. Additional languages like German, French, or Spanish are a fantastic bonus.
• You have a deep understanding of working capital, credit insurance, and netting.
• Experience in international commodity trading, food production, or a high-volume, fast-moving supply chain environment gives you a massive head start.
