Are you interested in supporting our Finance department and are curious about science? We're looking for a motivated Accounting Officer to help us drive sustainable, strategic sourcing, and to support our large team of international, interdisciplinary researchers in language and communication science. Your Tasks - Financial Accounting:
Process and approve invoices based on financial accuracy and compliance, assist in monthly/annual financial statements, internal and external invoicing - Fixed Asset Accounting:
Manage the full lifecycle of fixed assets including compliance with tax and subsidy rules, execute asset inventory processes, prepare asset-related financial statements - Cost Accounting:
Calculate and allocate internal/external costs, create and maintain cost centres - Contract Management:
Administrate procurement, data transfer, material transfer, and research collaboration contracts, and ensure compliant documentation of such - Third Party Funding Administration:
Manage and advise on budgetary planning for third-party funded projects from application to closure, provide financial reporting for internal/external partners or funding organisations
Required: - Completed training in the commercial sector with relevant on the job training in finance, accounting or business administration (e.g. accountant, bookkeeper) - Professional experience in commercial accounting, preferably also in public sector accounting - Experience in the field of cost accounting - Knowledge of SAP R/3 and MS Office - Good working knowledge of written and spoken English and comfortable using English in a business/professional context
Desirable: - A demonstrably supportive, positive mind-set and "can-do" mentality - Experience managing subsidy/grant-funded projects (EU, DFG, ERC, etc.) - Good working knowledge of Dutch and/or German
